Wonderful Show
I greatly enjoyed the show. The singers were wonderful, specifically Jean Valjean. The stagecraft was very well done with the special effects and scene changes. They used projections to add depth and movement to the background which was amazing. I had seen this show on Broadway and found this production to be equally wonderful.
There were slight variations on the songs, as is the discretion of the director, but they were barely noticeable even to someone like me who knows the soundtrack forwards and backwards. It worked well and cut some of the fluff that doesn't add to the songs and simply made them longer.
My biggest complaint was with the audience. I was appalled to hear them applauding and cheering between the songs, and at times BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN DONE SINGING!! I found this to be completely disrespectful, distracting, and it throws off the flow of the songs and the show. Please, if you go see this show, show respect and courtesy for the actors and your fellow audience members and wait until the end of the act to show your appreciation.
I would love to see this show again, but maybe next time at a different venue with a more respectful audience. (These are the same season ticket holders that applaud between movements of a symphony)
